Meekatharra to Newman, 422 kms

Brief lap of Meekatharra looking for a non existent steam train led us to the local bakery.

They took a while to prepare our b and e sandwichs, so we had a few chats with locals getting their coffee fix.

Only things to report between Meekatharra and Kumarina was us spotting camel footprints the few times we stopped. But no actual camels..

3 or 4 sets of flagged roadworks either side of Kumarina Roadhouse, and before we knew it the Capricorn Roadhouse and Newman were in sight.

I had booked the Oasis @Newman, a rather flash. FIFO camp 5 kms south of Newman.

We had a quick look around Newman, including the lookout , visitor centre etc before heading to the Oasis.

Made the Fijian receptionists day by getting her photo taken on the bike!

Was doing some tinkering on the bike when a young mechanic stopped by and asked if i needed anything.

Was genuinely impressed by this fella, just finished a 12 hr shift on the tools and still keen to help out.

Early dinner. Flasher setup than Leonora, but a funny vibe as 20 1/2 full tables all sat watching a documentary about Vegemite,😁 with lots of tables of 1 or 2ppl
