Making a mile

Wednesday the 12th April

Early start for a change, fix holding for wheel/luggage rack and a plan forming for an enhancement.

Obligatory stop for the 90 mile straight road sign at Caiguna, before a noticeable increase in eastbound truck traffic post the Easter break

Balladonia was noticeably busy with travellers and trucks, we would find out later that there was no cooking occurring at Norseman so i guess the truckies were pushing 2 hrs up the road for breakfast.

At Norseman Liz made me eat an egg sandwich against my better judgement, that being the only option. I seem to have survived, so far.

Norseman was Plan A for the day (400 odd kms), but when overlaying the weather in the days ahead we spotted Thursday was going to be 35 degrees on the way to Leonora

So plan B was push a little to Widgiemootlha, about 100 kms shy of Kalgoorlie. Given our early departure and not much to see along here we still arrived with plenty of daylight to spare.

Met a friendly woman from Euroa who had decided at the age of 60 to go see Australia solo. She was 4 yrs in, travelling / working, and just happened to be managing the Widgie Tavern where we snagged a donga.😁😁

This extra 100 kms would make Thursdays plan more palatableπŸ˜‰
